Haiti is falling into chaos, with gangs fighting out for control of the island while the government flees in exile. One of the most dangerous gangs is led by a warlord nicknamed “Barbecue”, who is notorious for burning and eating his enemies alive.
Haitians have already been streaming across the border since Biden took office. A Democrat created controversy in 2021 accused Border Patrol agents of whipping Haitian illegals, which was proven to be a lie. The NY Post reports:
He likened himself to Martin Luther King Jr. during an interview with the New Yorker last year, and was previously a member of the Haitian national police.
He was expelled from the force in 2018 for alleged ties to a number of horrific crimes, including the slaughter in the La Saline slums in which 71 people were killed, seven women were raped and 400 homes were burned down, according to official reports.
Haiti has gone through countless periods of instability throughout its history. In the 1960s, the Haitian government ran its own infamous gang, the Tonton Macoutes, who committed atrocities on civilians to stay in power. The US controlled Haiti for 20 years with troops, allowing for a semblance of tranquility. International forces have periodically had to occupy Haiti to restore order. The Daily Star says:
Describing the violence in the country, a journalist said that cannibalism has been witnessed on the streets as the violence reaches “unprecedented” levels, reports the Express US. Speaking anonymously, they said: “Haiti is living in a total chaotic situation right now. It is total chaos everywhere, especially in the capital where I am right now.
“Haiti has a leader, Prime Minister Ariel Henry, but he is not inside the country right now. In the meantime you have gangs waging full attacks on key institutions.
The Haitian government has already called for troops to restore order. With so many contingencies having to be managed by the US military, this could be difficult. The biggest threat to America remains that those gangs make their way to America to kill and plunder. Many foreign organized crime groups have already done.
