President Trump has returned to the world stage and world leaders are clamoring to get his ear.
President Trump was welcomed to the Elysee Palace by President Macron, Reuters reported, ahead of a ceremony celebrating the reopening on the Notre Dame Cathedral. Trump’s visit to Paris is for the ceremony but world leaders are taking advantage of.
During his meeting with President Macron, Trump also met with President Zelensky of Ukraine to discuss the current situation there.
In Trump’s first trip abroad since his victory last month, Trump and Macron are taking advantage of the early opportunity to get ahead of the crises that face the world currently.
Trump is also scheduled to meet with Great Britain’s Prince William, who will also be in attendance for the ceremony.
According to the White House, President Biden declined the invitation to attend and instead sent First Lady Jill Biden in his place to formally represent the United States. Pope Francis also declined an invitation to attend, as well.
But it appears, the real star of the show is President Trump, who has world leaders clamoring to meet with him. A stark moment in history where a President-elect is garnering more respect and attention than the sitting President of the Untied States.
A telling moment in world history, for sure.
