British investigators examining the relationship between Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein are reportedly widening the scope of their inquiry to include possible sex crimes, according to a new report from Sky News.
Detectives in London are now seeking to speak with a woman who alleges she was brought to Andrew’s Windsor residence “for sexual purposes,” as authorities reportedly believe the investigation could grow into a lengthy and far-reaching case involving multiple allegations and witnesses.
The development marks a significant escalation in scrutiny surrounding Andrew’s long-controversial ties to Epstein, whose death in prison in 2019 while awaiting federal sex trafficking charges left lingering questions on both sides of the Atlantic.
Andrew, the younger brother of King Charles III and second son of the late Queen Elizabeth II, has repeatedly denied wrongdoing. Still, the former royal remains under investigation following his arrest three months ago during a pre-dawn raid at his Norfolk home.
The arrest reportedly took place on Andrew’s 66th birthday after the release earlier this year of Justice Department files connected to Epstein. Investigators initially questioned Andrew on suspicion of misconduct in public office tied to allegations that he shared sensitive government and commercial information with Epstein while serving as a United Kingdom trade envoy.
Authorities are now reportedly examining whether the case extends beyond questions of official misconduct into potential criminal sexual conduct.
According to Sky News, officers from Thames Valley Police have already interviewed multiple witnesses as part of the expanding inquiry. Investigators are reportedly assessing allegations that Epstein arranged for a non-British woman to travel to the United Kingdom in 2010 for a sexual encounter involving Andrew.
The report stated that detectives have not yet interviewed the woman at the center of those allegations.
Investigators are also said to be seeking access to unredacted Epstein-related documents held by the U.S. Department of Justice, which officials reportedly believe could provide additional evidence or context relevant to the case.
The renewed focus on Andrew’s relationship with Epstein comes after years of public controversy surrounding the royal family’s handling of the scandal. Questions surrounding elite connections, political influence, and the apparent ability of powerful individuals to avoid scrutiny for years have fueled frustration both in Britain and abroad.
Andrew’s standing within the royal family has already dramatically deteriorated. In 2025, he was stripped of his “prince” title by King Charles following additional disclosures concerning his association with Epstein. He was also formally instructed to surrender his royal residence as the fallout intensified.
The case continues unfolding amid broader international attention on Epstein’s network and unanswered questions surrounding individuals connected to the disgraced financier. The investigation also reflects mounting pressure on authorities to pursue allegations aggressively regardless of social status, political influence, or royal standing.
