Israel’s Shocking Attack Surprises Terrorists

Israel has been bogged down in Gaza, continuing to face international criticism and fierce resistance from Hamas. To its North, Hezbollah in Lebanon has been making threats of war.

In a shocking intelligence operation, Israeli detonated 5,000 pagers used by Hezbollah, causing mass casualties and chaos. Fox News says:

The Jewish state’s James Bond-style alleged hack attack on Tuesday that caused explosions of handheld pagers carried by thousands of members of the U.S.-designated terrorist movement Hezbollah was a devastating setback for the Lebanon-based organization.

According to a Reuters report, Israel’s foreign intelligence agency, Mossad, planted explosives inside of 5,000 pagers imported by Hezbollah months before Tuesday’s detonations that killed nine people, a senior Lebanese security source and another source told Reuters.

This targeted operation could be one of the most daring in the history of intelligence. Other reports claim that walkie-talkies owned by Hezbollah also exploded later on, causing even greater damage once the terrorists gathered together. The Washington Post reports:

Israeli operatives probably intercepted the pagers somewhere in the supply chain before Hezbollah got them and rigged them with explosives, said Emily Harding, deputy director of the International Security Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington think tank.

Videos posted of the attack on social media suggest that the “explosive devices were integrated into the pagers,” N.R. Jenzen-Jones, director of Armament Research Services, a weapons research firm, said in a post on X. “The scale suggests a complex supply-chain attack, rather than a scenario in which devices were intercepted and modified in transit.”

Hezbollah will probably need a lot of time and effort to resume their terror planning operations. The Gaza war continues, quickly approaching the one year anniversary attack of October 7 in Israel.
