Following Iran’s attack on Israel, Sen. John Fetterman has taken a stand against President Biden. The Administration has vowed that America will not respond to Iran’s attack, and has discouraged Iran to do the same.
Biden has continued to be torn between his radical base and the more liberal centrist side of his party. His careful middle of the road policy has passed for pro-Hamas, since he has pushed for Israel to stop fighting. Fox News reports:
Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., said he didn’t agree with President Biden on his stance that the U.S. wouldn’t join in an offensive operation against Iran during an interview on Sunday, saying he would never “capitulate to the fringe” of his party.
CNN host Jake Tapper asked Fetterman to respond to reports that Biden told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the U.S. wouldn’t participate in any offensive operations against Iran during a conversation on Saturday.
Iran’s attack on Israel has caused minimal damage. All attack drones have been shot down before they could do any damage, and less than 10 ballistic missiles made it through Israel’s defenses. Still, this shows that Iran has dangerous capabilities that could harm the United States. The AP continues:
Iran says the attack was in response to an airstrike widely blamed on Israel that destroyed what Iran says were consular offices in Syria and killed two generals with its paramilitary Revolutionary Guard earlier this month.
Israel said almost all the over 300 drones and missiles launched overnight by Iran were shot down by its anti-missile defense system, backed by the U.S. and Britain. The sole reported casualty was a wounded girl in southern Israel, and a missile struck an Israeli airbase, causing light damage.
If the war continues to drag on until the election, the Biden Administration will be met with serious problems in the polls. Trump has promised stability in world affairs, something he had managed to deliver during his 4 year term.
