A glimmer of hope for the struggling industry was reportedly provided by the fact that French manufacturing production began to show signs of improvement toward the close of the previous year.
According to data released by the French statistics agency Insee on Friday, the output of manufacturing increased by 0.2% month-over-month in November.
According to the findings of a study conducted by The Wall Street Journal, analysts anticipated that production would fall for the third consecutive month in a row.
The automobile industry in the country, which has been facing increased competition from China and other countries, was the primary driver of the rebound in November, with output increasing by about 6% compared to the previous month.
In the midst of political unrest, the manufacturing activity in France has plunged to levels that have not been seen since May 2020 in recent months.
This highlights the economic challenges that are being faced by the second-largest economy in the eurozone.
